What We Do
Restoration Services for Anchorage Homes and Businesses
From a burst pipe in a Midtown condo to a smoke-filled house on the Hillside, our Anchorage crews clean up the damage and rebuild what can’t be saved.
Water Damage Restoration
When a supply line breaks or a water heater fails, we extract the water, trace how far it spread, and dry every wet wall and floor.
Water damage services →Fire and Smoke Damage
After a kitchen, electrical, or wood stove fire, we board up the openings, clean every room the smoke reached, and rebuild what burned, from the framing to the finishes.
Fire damage services →Mold Remediation
Mold grows in damp West Anchorage crawl spaces and behind leaking bathroom walls. We contain the work area, cut out the moldy materials, and ensure the source of the moisture is fixed and no further leak is happening.
Mold remediation →Reconstruction
Once the cleanup is done, our licensed construction team rebuilds the framing, drywall, cabinets, and finishes in a single room of a Spenard home or an entire house in Eagle River.
Reconstruction services →Contents Cleaning and Pack-Out
We tag and pack out the furniture, photos, documents, and electronics in the damaged rooms, then bring them back cleaned and deodorized once the rebuild is finished.

Why Choose TCM Restoration in Anchorage
Why Anchorage Property Owners Choose TCM Restoration
Based in South Anchorage
Our crews and drying equipment head out from South Anchorage, so help comes from across town instead of making the drive in from the Valley.
Experience with older homes
Close to half of Anchorage’s homes were built before 1980, and some materials from that era can contain asbestos. We handle asbestos abatement too, so those materials are dealt with before the rebuild starts.
Condos and apartment buildings
About a third of Anchorage homes are in buildings with two or more units. We restore those buildings as well as houses, including a three-story apartment building here that we rebuilt after a fire.
One company for the whole job
The same Anchorage team does the cleanup, and our own construction crew does the rebuild, so you’re not explaining your project to a new contractor halfway through.

Restoration FAQs
Restoration FAQs for Anchorage Property Owners
Can you dry out and repair our home after an earthquake breaks a water line?
Yes. In Anchorage buildings, water leaks are among the most common and costly kinds of earthquake damage to plumbing, heating, and sprinkler systems. One quake can break several lines at once, including connections on boilers and tanks that weren’t strapped down, so we check every wall and ceiling that could be wet, not just the obvious leak. After the water is shut off, we extract it and start drying right away, and once a plumber repairs the lines, we rebuild what couldn’t be saved.
Can you cover our roof and fix the damage after a windstorm tears off shingles and lets rain in?
Yes. We tarp the roof or board up the openings as soon as it’s safe to work, then pull out any soaked ceiling drywall and insulation and dry the framing. After that, we repair the roof and replace the ceilings. If a tree fell on the house, we secure and rebuild the damaged section once the tree is removed. Downslope winds hit hardest on the Hillside and in East Anchorage, so a roof there can be damaged even when the wind at the airport seemed mild.
Can our kitchen cabinets be saved after a water leak?
Often, if they haven’t swollen. We pull off the toe kicks, the strips along the floor under the cabinets, so we can take moisture readings and move air through the space underneath, where water collects. That lets us dry the cabinets in place. Particleboard that has already swollen can’t be repaired, so those cabinets are replaced.
Can my kitchen be cleaned after a cooking fire, or does it have to be redone?
Usually it can be cleaned. Burned food leaves a thin, sticky film that’s almost invisible, and a grease fire leaves heavier, darker soot. Both coat the cabinets, walls, ceilings, and appliances and leave a strong odor behind. Wiping this residue the wrong way can smear it deeper, so we wash the affected surfaces with degreasing cleaners, clean the dishes inside the cabinets, and deodorize with thermal fogging and air scrubbers. Cabinet faces that are charred or warped by the heat usually have to be replaced.
Will removing the mold spread spores to the rest of my home?
We do everything within our power to keep that from happening. Disturbing mold releases spores, so we seal off the work area with plastic sheeting and run air scrubbers that keep air flowing into the sealed space, not out of it. Moldy materials are bagged before they’re carried out, and if mold may have reached the ductwork, the forced-air system stays off until the ducts are checked, so it doesn’t blow spores into other rooms.
What happens to the furniture and clothes in a moldy room?
Many can be saved, depending on what they’re made of. Wood, metal, and other hard-surfaced furniture can usually be cleaned, and so can many clothes and fabrics. Upholstered furniture and mattresses that got wet and grew mold are seldom worth saving. We pack out the pieces worth keeping and clean and deodorize them at our facility.
