Why Choose TCM Restoration
Why Property Owners Choose TCM Restoration for Water Damage
A burst pipe or flooded basement turns your week upside down, and the water keeps soaking into walls, insulation, and subfloors while you figure out what to do. We take that off your plate. Crews head out from our Anchorage and Palmer offices as soon as you call, and the same company that dries your property also repairs it, so you’re not hiring a second contractor once the water is gone.
We’ve served Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley through Alaska winters since 1996, so we know where water hides in buildings here. Your project manager checks in with you as the drying and repairs move along, so you’re never left guessing how close you are to moving back in or reopening.

How Water Damage Restoration Works
Our Water Damage Restoration Process
We answer and send a crew
We answer 24/7 and typically have a crew at your property in about 60 minutes. The crew finds where the water is coming from and makes sure the area is safe to work in.
We extract the water and protect your belongings
We move furniture and belongings out of harm’s way and pump out the standing water. Then we pull water from the carpet and pad before it soaks any deeper into the floor.
We dry the structure
We lift carpet to dry it with its pad and cut out drywall only where it can’t be saved. Air movers and dehumidifiers then run until readings show everything is dry.
We repair your property
If you’re filing a claim, your adjuster gets our photos and repair estimate first. Then our construction team repairs the drywall, reinstalls the carpet, and paints, so each room is ready to use again.

Restoration FAQs
Anchorage and Mat-Su Water Damage Restoration FAQs
What’s the difference between water mitigation and water damage restoration?
Mitigation stops the damage from spreading, and restoration repairs it. Mitigation is the emergency work, like extracting the water, moving belongings out of the way, and drying the structure. Restoration is the repair work that follows, such as replacing drywall, reinstalling carpet, and painting. We handle both, so one company sees your property through from the first call to the finished rooms.
How do you find water hidden behind walls and under floors?
With moisture meters. Water wicks up drywall and spreads under flooring well past the wet spot you can see, so we take readings in the walls, floors, and ceilings around the leak and map how far it traveled. That map tells us which sections can be dried in place and which must be opened, so we tear out only what’s necessary.
Does it matter what kind of water caused the damage?
Yes. Clean water from a broken supply line or water heater usually lets us dry and keep most of the carpet, pad, and drywall it reached. A sewer backup is always treated as contaminated, and groundwater or surface runoff usually is too, so the porous materials they soaked come out before we disinfect and dry the area. Even clean water picks up contamination the longer it sits, so the sooner we start, the more we can save.
Can water-damaged hardwood floors be saved?
Often, yes, when the water was clean and drying starts quickly. Boards that have cupped can flatten again as moisture leaves them, so we dry them gradually and check the subfloor underneath as well. Sanding and refinishing wait until the boards read dry. Boards that have buckled loose, or stay badly cupped after drying, usually need to be replaced.
How do you keep mold from growing after water damage?
By drying the structure as fast as possible. Mold needs moisture to grow, so we extract the water as soon as we arrive, treat wet flooring with mildewcide, and keep our equipment running until moisture readings show the building is dry. Walls and floors stay open until then, so mold can’t start behind new drywall.
How do you know my property is completely dry?
We measure it. Wood, drywall, and flooring can feel dry on the surface while the inside is still wet, so we compare moisture readings in the damaged areas with readings from the same materials in a part of the building the water never reached. When those numbers match, the structure is dry and repairs can start.
