How Reconstruction Works
Our Reconstruction Process
We walk through and estimate
We walk through the damaged areas with you, measure what has to be rebuilt, and write a detailed estimate before any work begins.
We plan and schedule the work
We order the materials and line up everything the job needs, then give you a schedule, so you know when crews will be on site and what each stage involves.
We rebuild the structure
We repair or replace damaged framing, subfloor, and roof sheathing, then hang and finish the drywall. The structure has to be sound and dry before any of the finish work goes in.
We finish and close out
We install the flooring, cabinets, and trim, paint the walls, and then walk through every room with you. On an insurance job, your project manager works with your adjuster throughout the job.

Water Damage Restoration
New drywall and flooring only go in over a dry structure, so our water crews confirm the framing and subfloor are dry before the rebuild starts.
Water damage services →Fire and Smoke Damage
Smoke odor can stay in framing and insulation, so our fire crews clean and deodorize the structure before any new drywall goes up.
Fire damage services →Mold Remediation
If we find mold once the walls are open, our mold crews contain the area and remove the growth before construction continues, so new materials go in over clean framing.

Restoration FAQs
Anchorage and Mat-Su Reconstruction FAQs
Will the repaired rooms look like the rest of my property?
Usually, yes. We blend new drywall into the surrounding texture and paint the whole wall or ceiling, since fresh paint can look different next to older paint. For flooring and cabinets, we look for your exact product first. If it’s been discontinued, we find the closest match, and for cabinets, a custom build in your style and finish may be an option.
Can you repair my roof after an ice dam or a fire?
Yes. Ice dam meltwater gets under the shingles and can soak the roof sheathing, insulation, vapor barrier, and the drywall below, so we replace what the water ruined from the roof deck down. After a fire, we tarp the roof first, then replace the burned rafters, sheathing, and roofing. If your roof has a history of ice dams, a waterproof ice barrier along the eaves helps keep the next ice dam from causing a leak.
Do you repair siding, windows, and doors too, or just the inside?
Both. When wind, water, or fire damages the outside of a building, we handle the exterior repairs along with the interior. After a fire at a three-story apartment building, for example, we rebuilt it inside and out.
How long does the rebuild take once the cleanup is done?
Anywhere from a week or two to several months, depending on how much has to be rebuilt. A single room with new drywall, flooring, and trim usually takes one to two weeks, and work across several rooms with a kitchen, bath, or new cabinets can take three to six weeks. Rebuilding after extensive structural damage can take several months. Your rebuild can also run longer while you wait on insurance approvals, permits and inspections, or materials.
Do you replace the insulation and vapor barrier when you rebuild the walls?
Yes, when the damage reached them. When an exterior wall has to be opened, we replace the damaged insulation and put the vapor barrier back the way the wall had it. In cold climates, walls are traditionally built with a plastic vapor barrier just behind the drywall, and gaps around outlets and pipes can let moist indoor air into the wall in winter, where it can condense and wet the insulation. That’s why we seal the barrier around outlets and pipes before the wall is closed up.
